A legendary security guard called Kg would have leather armour, a boulder in one hand and a sword in the other. One day he fell into a bottomless well. He said in a sonorous voice "is anyone home?"
A door appeared in front of him. Like a big sook bent on his knees  he cried for mercy. No-one said anything. "Phew," he said. He opened the door and went in. His eye sockets filled with tears. He was in a castle, but when he got up, a king was in front of him. He so ugly and was covered  in itchy-bites. He put some medicine on his itchy-bites to sooth them and his fingers were covered in soot from a fire. He was carried by a leprechaun, so he wanted to kill Kg but gave him a little leeway. Soon enough Kg became a knight. One day the king was explaining a very sophisticated plan. Kg didn't even understand what the king was saying. DUM DUM DUM!...

Here is my untrue, weird but best spelling story from my homework book.

By Sylvie McDonald

In the weekend I got hyper, so everyone said I was a hazard. After that I felt extremely sorrowful because I had to act for five more advertisements. It was a coincidence that my best friend was there. We had to pretend we were craving for something. We were determined to return to our ottoman. After that I felt amazingly vim.

The next day my friend and I felt quarrelsome and even though we were warned not to labour over our financial differences, we proceeded with heedlessness. I looked gimletly at my friend hoping we had done the right thing. The next day I felt very pert because it was all a silly dream.

this is one of my favorite spelling stories.

Once upon a time there lived a boy called Clamber. One day he galloped down to the village and bought  a necklace with 15 carats gold. When he got home he saw his mother was impatient. she was hungry. Clamber was irritated." He said why in the world am i called Clamber?" ( He said it sarcastically!! )" Well"... began his mother. "I was being sarcastic!!" screamed Clamber. "I know that I am called Clamber because I am always looking after you and clambering around after and for you!!" "I give up." "Well you can now call me by my first name." "It is parallelogram." Said his mother. "And now I live in a sanctuary."

Here is my favorite Silly Spelling Story.

Once there was an exceptionally, irresistible boy called, Dictionary. He had a friend called, Thesaurus. He loved syrups with citrus and chemicals from meteorites. Nearby his house, was a veterinarian with a 22 carat gold ring that had 2 parallelograms that were referring to tobbogans. For some reason, his other friend, Multiplication was shouting out nonrelevant exclamations.

Hi! Here is my favorite Spelling Story.

Niamh decided to go to the fireworks after all. She thought about the romance of the evening and coloured parachutes landing on the fields where the fireworks would be.

There was a murmuring that there would be a Korero announcement at the fireworks. Niamh decided she should whakarongomai to learn as much as she could at the event.

She heard murmuring about how the community should be recycling more and that compensation was available for people who did recycle. She grimaced. She would much rather be in her classroom learning about modern pseudo words and algorithms and the website Audioboom.

Spelling Stories

In R27 our teacher Ms Linda Gray Brett has challenged us to see if we can  create a story from our personal spelling list each week. Some of our stories make sense and sometimes they stretch your imagination which is after all a great thing.
We think it helps us to think flexibly and it is great fun too. This year our school theme is Challenge so we think this is a great way to challenge ourselves in writing. We will publish some of our favourites each week and would love to hear your comments.

Room 27 semaphore flags

In Room 27 we have been learning about World  War I. We have made semaphore flags and have been learning the wonderful language of flags. It has been quite challenging for some people to remember the signals. Here is our first student to complete his sentence in semaphore language. See if you can guess what it says and tell us in the comments.
